The doctor seems more like the religious leaders of Jesus' day, pious on the outside but ready to kill the innocent if needed to maintain position or wealth. This is hypocrosy. Jesus did hang out with the drunks, whores and thieves, they knew they were wrong and could be talked to, they could accept the idea of repentance, as for the religious types who would hide behind the law or use the law to justify themselves, he had nothing but scorn.
BTW I thank him for hanging out with the drunks, the whores and the thieves, thats where he found me.Last edited by nun2sharp; 06-02-2009 at 04:06 AM.

The fellow that killed that doctor ought to have read this;
Matthew 7:22-23 (King James Version)
22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Well, I wouldn't go so far to put words in Jesus's mouth, given that apparently even the guys he hung with all the time needed him to explain his parables because the understanding of those was to be limited, but there's one thing I'd say we know for sure.
The doctors are rich and it's easier for a camel to go through needle's eye than one of them to get into heaven, so we all know where that man is now. And, of course, the guy who killed him is not rich, otherwise he'd been able to hire somebody to do the job for him. So, bring on the chair, 'novit enim Dominus qui sunt eius'.
