Thanked: 402Apart from what fpessanha said - which I totally agree with - I seem to remember a historic scientist commenting on the second Iraq intervention that "its impossible to influence a muslim society from outside".
There is no such example in history and will never be.
The Iran needs a separation between church and government, but thats up to them to work on it.

I think the president should stay away from iran as long as posible...
I wonder what the people who say he should do something about it would have said if Russia or China (just to mention 2 super powers) would intervene in the 2002 election in favor Al Gore...

International involvement in anything, charity, 'development', military action - what ever - seems to be akin to putting Petrol in your Diesel car. It makes a lot of noise, you don't really move anything forward and then it blows up.
I don't really think the US needs to make a statement of where it stands on 'freedom' again, either.
