Thread: THIS is why "Body Mods" get no respect...

When as a young man I was an ironworker in structural erection if a guy did something really stupid to get hurt the saying was,"If you're going to be dumb, you've got to be tough". First thing I thought of when I opened the link.

Well at least he's not in danger of them deflating on him. What a saddo, can't this guy get the real thing?

Seriously though, I am inked and pierced and even I think it's stupid. WHY????

Is that any more stupid than a woman getting breast implants?

Or a man, come to that?

Gah. You know, at least the people into "extreme" body modification have some kind of reason--they're either 1.) mentally ill or2.) mentally ill and somewhat philosophic about it. They have made a "lifestyle choice" that demands that they destroy their bodies for whatever reason. A method to their madness, if you will.

The thing that amazes me the most:
Once you see somebody with tattoos or otherwise modificated body and you really look at it, they are getting really weird.

Sure I think this is a stupid body mod, but it is NOT the stupidest, not by a country mile.

Put me down for option 2 please! Jim that made me giggle. Seriously though, tattoos are personal and done for yourself not for the benefit of others. I can't honestly say why I pierced what bit's I did, there was no rebelious motive behind it. I just felt like it. But I do take a couple of months to think about it before I have any work done.
