Thanked: 402Indigenous Deities! One is purring right beside me, the other one just went out.
They lift my spirit, calm the soul and relax the muscles. Only downside: they make me smiling wrinkles.

To God the Father in the name of His only begotten Son Jesus (Christ is His Title not His name). I came to this point when I was 31 after reading, studying, and generally just trying to make sense of things. There was a man by the name of Simon Greenleaf who through the use of forensic evidence stated that Jesus had to be exactly who he said he was not in spite of but because of the evidence. Professor Greenleaf (Harvard law school) is known as the father of modern forensic evidence.
There is another man named Anthony Flew who for 40 years wrote books on evolution and atheism who has now denied that faith and now believes in intelligent design. There are many scientists and scholars who are leaving the faith of evolution due to new evidences and studies but that's a subject for a lecture hall or church service. The truth is people believe or don't believe based on personal feelings instead of facts more times than not.Last edited by ENUF2; 07-31-2009 at 12:09 AM.

Yes, but I think because it doesn't work, I've tried it... Only once He answered my prayer but it took Him about 7 years!
And then one day came the revelation - he has horns and tail and carries pitchfork, but that 'one more thing' blinds you and you just dismiss them as shadows!
So I have learned to hedge my prayers and the linus camp gets most of them. Wasn't he smart to make more saints than anybody else!

I pray to the One True Lord.

Thanked: 39Hmm..I think it's a bit funny that people often make a distinction between "God" and "Allah" when it is the same. Allah is only the Arabic word for God. I just think it is strange since nobody calls "the Jewish God" Adonai or JHVH, or any other religions indigenous name for God
Anyway being Yarsan (an indigenous Kurdish religion) I believe in Haq, which is the universal spirit who only maintains and keeps the balance between good and evil, light and darkness. But since the spirit cannot influence the material world directly but only through incarnations you usually pray to these incarnations.
So I guess indigenious deities would be correct? God would also be true..Last edited by Rawaz; 07-31-2009 at 01:51 AM.

Nothing really, but if I was to make a choice it would be Budha, I think Buhdism would be about one of the only religions whose followers don,t kill people in the name of it,s leader, come to think of it I don,t think they kill any thing do they. Maybe there are some Buhdists out there who could enlighten me on this?

Chuck Norris is a professing Christian...
(From his Wikipedia page)
Now an outspoken Christian,[12] Norris is the author of several Christian-themed books, such as The Justice Riders. He has also been in a few TV commercials promoting Bible study and prayer in public schools, in addition to efforts to reduce drug use. In 2006, he began penning a column for the conservative news website WorldNetDaily, sharing his "musings about faith, family, freedom, country, loyalty – maybe even kickboxing." In his columns, he has expressed his belief in Biblical creationism,[13] that those who are troubled should turn to Jesus, and is quoted as saying "true patriots" do not stay clear of discussing religion and politics.[14]
Norris serves on the board of directors of the National Council on Bible Curriculum in Public Schools, an organization promoting the use of the Bible in public schools, and also speaks on behalf of organizations advocating official prayers in public schools.
