Yes, but I think because it doesn't work, I've tried it... Only once He answered my prayer but it took Him about 7 years!
And then one day came the revelation - he has horns and tail and carries pitchfork, but that 'one more thing' blinds you and you just dismiss them as shadows!
So I have learned to hedge my prayers and the linus camp gets most of them. Wasn't he smart to make more saints than anybody else!

Hmm..I think it's a bit funny that people often make a distinction between "God" and "Allah" when it is the same. Allah is only the Arabic word for God. I just think it is strange since nobody calls "the Jewish God" Adonai or JHVH, or any other religions indigenous name for God

Anyway being Yarsan (an indigenous Kurdish religion) I believe in Haq, which is the universal spirit who only maintains and keeps the balance between good and evil, light and darkness. But since the spirit cannot influence the material world directly but only through incarnations you usually pray to these incarnations.

So I guess indigenious deities would be correct? God would also be true..

Nothing really, but if I was to make a choice it would be Budha, I think Buhdism would be about one of the only religions whose followers don,t kill people in the name of it,s leader, come to think of it I don,t think they kill any thing do they. Maybe there are some Buhdists out there who could enlighten me on this?

    Fixed that for ya.

Really shouldn't talk in absolutes about something that can be neither proven nor disproven at this time.

Well, they don't kill people ANYMORE. They used to, though. Warrior monks and all that.

Some sects practice strict non-violence as I understand it, but at least as far as mainstream Japanese Buddhism goes "not killing anything" is fairly metaphorical. Meaning, "Grill me up some more of that Kobe beef, Toshi, and pop the head off that shrimp so I can eat it while it's still twitching!"

I don't pray, ever. I'd rather use the time and effort to act on whatever is the issue. And this isn't because I'm agnostic either. I've always liked the old adage 'God helps those who help themselves'. I guess I just prefer to DO rather than pray.

Looking at the poll results, I'm impressed at how multi-faith some of you guys are!
