Thread: Who do you "pray" to?

I pray to god and I have to say that I don't just believe, I know he answers my prayer. I have on two occasions, had trouble first with terrible nightmares which had me scared to go to sleep and praying made them vanish. The second time was what the hymn writer John Newton described as "inward trials" I asked for two weeks peace and quiet and got exactly that, peace so perfect it felt like being transported to another world. Anyone who has read and understood John Bunyans book "Grace abounding to the chief of sinners" will know what inward trials are.

ALL studies show that praying makes no difference to the outcome of whatever is being prayed for whatsoever although it may make you feel better to do so anyway. Since I feel better about doing something concrete to achieve results, prayer is a misdirected action. End stop.

All studied by mortal man.
My inward trials could not possibly have been relieved by me or anyone else.Last edited by charlie762; 07-31-2009 at 03:57 PM.

I don't believe I pray in the ordinary sense, as in I don't request help ( rarely request help ) But I thank God for what I have and what he has shown me and where he has led me.
I guess you can say I don't ask, rather I wait to be shown.
