I do lend my knife, but it depends on who is asking and what they are doing. I also don't let my knife out of my sight, depending on who it is. Most of my EDC's are the Byrd knives, but I still don't want to be out $30 if they lose it.

I didn't vote however; Confusius say-man who lend knife to co-worker should glance at his own reflection to find he who ruins knife.

Confucious clearly never had to sharpen a knife after some douche cut on glass with it, or had to regrind a knife because the tip got broken off.

I have carried knives daily since 1962. I keep my knives sharp and in good order. I have loaned them out in the past, but I have had to put too much work into getting them back into shape after some dunce has committed one (or more) of the offenses that have already been mentioned. Driving screws, curtting wire, opening cans and so on. I don't carry cheap knives, so I find this type of behavior to be extremely offensive! Now, I figure if somebody needs a knife, let them do what I did. Let them go buy one. Then they can try to cut concrete with it and nobody will care.

I usually have two knives on me at all times. Both with good edges on them. NO I will not lend my knife out. I will offer to cut whatever needs to be cut myself.

If there is some poor boob at work not smart enough to know he needs I a knife I guess I sorta feel sorry for them and will lend it out.

I carry a mora that I've modified and rehandled, sometimes brittle for some work, but I doubt they will be doing anything worse than what I do with it.

If it wont stand up to a little use there is no need carrying it. Fixing it back is just part of having a users knife.

I ran the cutting dept at work (when I could work that is) and was also the jack of all trades around the shop, so it was usually me who was in need of a sharp object. So, yes,I would loan my knife to someone I worked with if it was needed, and it was my fault if it got dulled, because I was the one who dood it. On rare occasions others would require a sharp object and if they did borrow my knife,it was only to cut mylar or some other decal material. Most usually, they would just grab a box cutter or a steel blade from die-cutting.

Only to people I know...and know well. Of some people I know that they'll treat it right. If it's dulled, that's ok. Because it's made for using. And when using it gets dulled. However some people don't get a knife EVER from me.

    The kind that says:

"Who're you gonna stab with that?" when they see my knife. Someone who says that clearly knows enough about knives to cut themselvs or break my knife....but not to get mine in a loan.
