he is really incedible! yes he has a very distinct style and maybe all his stuff sounds the same (i have no clue). but he is amazing to watch and considering i am in no way a jazz fan i really do like it.

anyone else know of him? (some must)
yeah, he's pretty incredible... I've seen a few people doing this type of technique though with varying styles. If memory serves I've seen Kiko loreiro of Angra (brazilian metal band) doing a pretty fast metal solo like this

If memory serves, the Portuguese are pretty much responsible for if not the very creation of the guitar at least the worldwide spread of it and its offshoots like the quatro and ukelele.

The first time I saw that techique Jordan is using was by Jimi Hendricks at Monterey Pop. Prince did it when he played the Superbowl a few years back and people said he was faking because he never strummed or picked.

alright lets not turns things all negative by bringing Prince into this! ha! just kidding, but seriously i am not a Prince fan at all.

i am a huge Hendrix fan but i can't help but think of the potential the guy had if he could have just done less drugs. i know that is a bit of a generalization but i can't help it.

the next two on my list would probably be Riviera Paradise and then Lenny. what can i say, i've been an SRV fan since i was 5.

Yes they are! The Ukelele its or own (portuguese) "cavaquinho" that our emigrants (mostly from Açores - "Azores") carried to Hawai this kind of instrument! Their King apreciated so much our "culture" that he embrassed as their own! I must say i never been to Hawai but many portuguese people said that its like beeing on Portugal (Açores - "Azores")!
I'm very glad that you mentioned / remembered that!

Wow, there are some great guitarists I've NEVER heard of. Thanks for the new obsessions! But I'm a little sad there's no love for Chet....
