I guess I'll just have to get rich and build my own theater or make rich friends and make them think it was their idea to build a theater.

Alice looks like fun but I think Burton is "drifting" slightly. Avatar looks stunning. The Big Lebowski is playing at the IFC theater this friday... dude.
what i meant for the thread was more new movies that you really want to see in the theater rather then wait for DVD, or movies that you were really excited about seeing in the theater in the past, and whether they lived up to the hype or not. but it would be great to expand it to movies you wish you saw in the theaters. good idea.

BTW i will always be the first to go off topic in my own threads so a little variation of the topic is great.

The Matrix is such a fantastic film, I watch it fairly often on VHS!

I'm looking forward to Iron Man 2, and seeing toy Story in 3D next month. I think that will be pretty cool.

I was also impressed by watchmen, and district 9, and inglorious Basterds. I'm a critic at heart, and I see a film a week (ish) and they have impressed me in particular.

Last year, I went to see Man on Wire. I was desperate to see it and I think it might be one of the most profound bits of cinema I have ever seen. It's just beyond amazing.

i watched the teaser for Avatar! that does look like it has the potential to be a SWEEET movie! i haven't read anything on it yet though so it better have a pretty good story line. i hate movies with crazy graphics and no story to pull you in.

i just watched District 9 the other night and really liked it. the TV trailers did it no justice as far as the story goes. definitely a good watch!
