I know what you mean. I've seen trailers for movies that are more than a year away and wonder why they're even bothering. To be frank, I won't remember it 6 months from now.
I'm excited for Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs and The Last Airbender (though that may change as the trailers come out). I can't decide about Gamer. It looks interesting, and I love Gerard Butler, but I'm on the fence about it. I think I'll wait for reviews.
Lately, the few movies I've seen have been quite enjoyable: Star Trek, Harry Potter, and Inglourious Basterds. Harry Potter was enjoyable, but as a fan of the books, I do have a few mixed feelings on Yates' direction. I feel he took too much license in places he shouldn't have. Taken just as the movie, separate from the books, it was pretty good.
Star Trek and Inglourious Basterds are both purchases I've already planned. There are few movies that I feel I must own, but those two definitely make the cut.
EDIT: After re-reading your post, I'm definitely going to be seeing Ironman 2 and Alice in Wonderland. Ironman was just a cool movie. I think Tim Burton's take on Alice in Wonderland, along with a dream cast of actors will make for, at the very least, an interesting movie.
