Thanked: 586Of course he was right to apologize. He was wrong. His behavior was infantile and Obama was telling the truth. Personally I think he should commit seppuku.

Thanked: 43I agree that politics are politics. But as someone who leans toward the conservative side of the spectrum, especially on fiscal matters, in my lifetime I can't recall seeing what I'm seeing now out of politicians. The Death Panel was just one of many parts of this bill that wasn't blown out of proportion, they twisted all the truth right out of it.
I remember the anger at George Bush, but I cannot recall hearing and seeing the behavior and twisting of the truth on the scale we are seeing now. Not from members of congress.
If the republican party doesn't stop acting like a bunch of sore losers, kicking up dust in the sand lot, and more like they have a plan or a clue. It's a long way from Ronald Reagan and I don't mean just in the temporal way.

I did not vote for Obama and I generally consider my views fairly conservative. What Wilson did was wrong. It was not gentlemanly. It was poor form. I expect that kind of behavior from the bleeding hearts, not from intelligent, mature people.
People like Wilson, Limbaugh, O'reilly, etc are bombastic blowhards with small minds. They are often hypocrites and care more about protecting their ideology than they do about the welfare of the country. They are damaging the Republican party and pushing people like me out of it.

I believe there is a lack of understanding at best and intentional misinformation at worst behind this belief/myth. If I can find the article explaining it later tonight I will post it. I am a bit busy right now to go looking for it. If anything written that doesn't agree with what you currently believe about this health care reform (not saying you are this way, just have come up against it during this debate) is just liberal double-speak and more damned lies, it won't serve much purpose, but maybe it could clear things up.
No, those two things are rather different. I have acted stupidly (as in act LIKE a stupid person), though I am not stupid. I do not believe the same is true of lying. Do I occassionally lie? Yep. Does this make me, at least to some degree, a liar? You bet your butt it does. I know it isn't right, but I am a big enough man to know when I do the wrong thing when it is easier sometimes (What honey? No, that one with the funny patterns on it is called damascus, it's old...and very inexpensive...I'd forgotten about that old cheap razor).
Is this just semantics? Maybe, but I sure don't think so.

Thanked: 150I don't think he should have apologized, and if I ever meet him, I'm buying him a beer!
When Bush had a shoe thrown at his head the democrats laughed. Obama gets called out on his lie, and the Democrats cry. (I understand that the shoe throwing incident was in another country, and during a press conference, but the Democrats did nothing to condemn the outburst).
How else are the Republicans suppose to voice their opinion to Mr. Obama, when Mr. Obama will not meet with any of them? He says that his door is always open for a discussion, but he has declined all invitations for a sit down with any Republican since April.
Further, the Republicans have now requested specific language in the bill stating that persons in the country illegally will not be covered by this take over of health care, and the Democrats refuse to put such language in the bill.
That being said, let us all pay heed to our Dear Leader, hold up our little red books, and pledge our subservience to Obamunism.
