Thread: Sometimes I hate people!

Hope you guys Don't mind me venting a bit! As some of you know Martha and I rescue Australian Cattle Dogs that are unwanted or abused and find homes for them. Well this weekend we got an email that there was a 12 week old ACD puppy at one of our local shelters and that the pup had a broken leg and needed help. So we contacted the shelter and verified the situation and then drove over to see the pup. Sure enough he had an issue with his left rear leg. So the shelter said they weren't going to pay to have it repaired and they planned to put him down at 5pm Monday (today). So we said we would take him to the vet and pay to have his leg looked at. We were told no that they couldn't let us take him until today incase the owners came looking for him. So he had to sit there all weekend with a messed up leg. Then we go to the shelter and spring the little guy and get him to our vet and what do the xrays show? A broken leg? NO it shows that some @#%%^&&& shot the little guy with a high powered pellet gun or bird shot and one of the 3 pellets is lodged in his spine and caused nerve damage to his leg and crippled him. WHAT KINDA PERSON SHOOTS A 12WEEK OLD PUPPY!!!! My god what kinda people do stuff like this? Anyway we have him now and will find him a home but I wish I could get my hands on the people who did this. I just hate people sometimes

Man, it makes me sad to hear that. I am glad, however, that there are folk like you who do their best to rebuild the broken world that some people try to create.

despite my pleasant disposition on these forums I don't really care for people in general, and not even for the something as sever as that. People, generally speaking, suck. Then I hear about something like puppies being tortured and makes me feel like I'm too easy on people.

As an ex breeder, I have to say that only a very very sick individual could do this...

Someone shot a pup??!!! WTF People like that should be put to sleep.

I agree totally. I like individuals, but I find the human race to be thoroughly unpleasant most of the time.

And this sort of story just makes my blood boil. I'm definately an animal lover and I think its the worst form of bullying and cruelty to pick on an animal. I just think "come pick on me... And you'll get both barrels of a 12 gauge loaded with rock salt."

I have to agree, PEOPLE SUCK!

You would have to be a cold hearted sick SOB to do something like that.

I am a firm believer in "What comes around goes around" and "Do to others as you would like to be done to you"

People like that will get by with a slap on the wrist. If you hunt without a permit, but still intend to eat wath you catch, you can go to jail. If you mutilate an animal, please don't do it again, as we are unable to prosecute you.

Reminds me of an old saying-"The more I see of people-The more I like my dog"...Our two yellow labs are members of the family and a joy to be around.This is just detestable!

I'm with you Doc... it takes a certain kind of gutter scum to injure/kill an animal for sport. I'm a Philadelphia Eagles fan and I have to look at "you know who" every weekend. It makes me sick.

We have two rescues at my house... maybe this will help cheer you up. I took it last night:
