Thanked: 293I actually lost mine too... and it's still lost. I have no clue where it is. It was a little 2" benchmade that was perfect. I don't need anything bigger than that so I guess I'll have to either get another one or something like it.

Happy for you Mark. My hat is off to a man who would not only own a Tony Bose/Case muskrat but carry it around in his pocket.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

I have around 70 pocket knives and several fixed blades but I am not a collector per se. I buy what grabs my attention and all knives that I own have found their way to my side or my pocket for at least a short time and then I clean them up and put them away until next time. The Bose/Case Muskrat however just would not leave my pocket...I think she loves me
I think it's been 2 years now that she has been in my pocket.Last edited by JMS; 11-08-2009 at 05:17 AM.

I had the first Case/Bose Slimline. I never did carry it and ended up selling it. I probably have close to 50 pocket knives at present. If they are mint I don't carry them but if I picked them up used I might drop one in my pocket. I always carry an old red Rogers bone XX 61048 one way or the other. That is my main pocket knife and cut many a peach and tomato with that one.

Thanked: 234I'd hate to loose a pocket knife. Currently I carry a 'Slim' Opinel, I think that is going to change once my Svord turns up in the post.
I've been hunting for a EDC friendly Rodgers pocket knife for some time. I have one of their clasp knives but it's far far to heavy to carry every day.

Well, I love my Bose/Case muskrat. It has resided in my pocket off and on for the last 2 years. More on than off. I will be retiring her to "Dress only" attire as I do not wish to revisit this incident but really have lost her next time. I have found a suitable replacement that will not cause my demise if I lose her but only cause a little sadness.
Here she is: A Tony Bose design but made by W R Case ( As opposed to a collaboration ). A Case Swayback. 3 and a 1/2 inches closed sporting a wharncliff main blade and a pen blade. The bone scales are chestnut in color and the jigging is a standard Case jig, The pictures do not do the scales justice. The muskrat to my mind is the perfect pocket knife for my needs but this little swayback is definitely a close second. I paid about 270 usd for the collaboration but only paid 80 usd for the Swayback. The swayback is replaceable as they will likely make this yearly but the muskrat will never be made again.

Tsk. Come on Mark, when are you finally going to stop living in the past and buy a good pocket knife like a spyderco
Incidentally, I thought I'd lose my trusted swiss army knife for good when I forgot to put it in my carry on luggage last week when coming back from Berlin. To my amazement, the security officer at the X ray scanner asked me to hand over my knife, looked at it for a minute, said 'Hm, I see' and gave it back to me, saying it was no problem.
She exhibited common sense that I am unused to in airport security.
She must have understood that I was not going to hijack the plane that was already flying me home. Though it probably helped that it was one of those multi use knives, and I was using it as a keychain. My spyderco would not have received the same understanding probably. And many security officers would have just confiscated it anyway.
So I can understand you not wanting to risk losing something that is valuable to you. It's also why I only take my feather razor with me for travel. Zero emotional attachment, so if it gets lost I don't lose anything I care about.Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.
