    just wanted to know if any of you ever heard of the one i carry?
    it is a FIGHTN' ROOSTER made in solingen germany. very nice 4 blade stock knife. what is know around here as the complete farmers knife.

    You dont mean a congress pattern do you?
    I've heard of fightn' rooster and understand the trademark name has changed hands several times.

    Mark, I think you are thinking of Hen & Rooster as far as the trademark changing hands ? Fightin' Rooster was a brand started by a Tennessee fellow by the name of Frank Buster. He contracted with various Solingen makers and made a lot of different patterns. Usually with decorated blades. I've had quite a few and still have a couple. Good knives IME and highly collectible back in the day if not still.
    Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

    the company is now owned(unless it has been sold again) by frost cutlery and the newer knives are not that good, even though they say they are solingen metal and made.
    i have had mine about 20 years. before that i always carried a tree brand, also made in germany..
    sorry about changing the thread, but just wanted to see if any more had heard of the brand and had used it.
