What Do You Think Of No Script ?
I long ago began using Mozilla Firefox as my browser. There is a feature called No Script that I have also been running that compliments Firefox. Here is a short description that comes up when you google it ...."NoScript for Firefox pre-emptively blocks malicious scripts and allows JavaScript, Java and other potentially dangerous content only from sites you trust."
Some applications won't run when you use No Script unless you access a menu where you allow the website to run Java script. It takes some getting used to remember that it is necessary to select 'temporarily allow this site' but in short order I became used to it. When a website has dead links or buttons I decide if I want to allow it and then everything works.
Remembering the old days before I had this app and my PC was vulnerable to the world .... if it really is dangerous not to have No Script. So what do you gentlemen think ? Are those without No Script taking a chance or is it a waste of space and time ?Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Well i do not have No Script in my Firefox and have not experienced any problems with that. However i have good, separate antivirus program running all the time. Maybe it should do the trick.
However i am total amateur with the computers.'That is what i do. I drink and i know things'

Thanked: 1262NoScript is excellent. When you first access a site, you need to add some exceptions. After that you are fine.

I love it. It takes a little getting used to, but it is amazing at how much stuff it blocks. You can provide no access, temporary access (this session), or permanent access for individual sites. Very good app.

Yes, in the absence of stricter security measures, I would use NoScript if you're on a Windows machine.
Tip: I found that it's best to keep the "permanently allowed" list as short as possible, since having a longer list (very long) seemed to slow my browsing.

I like no-script in FF a couple of adjustments I make are for it to allow scripts for pages I open through bookmarks, and to hide the bottom notification after 5 seconds, that way it stays for the most part out of my way.
The more you use it and allow permanent exceptions to sites you trust the less you will notice it.

Thanked: 4I use QuickJava, CS Lite, AdBlock Plus, and Redirect Cleaner. Those, plus antivirus, keep me safe from most beasties out there. Highly recommended.

I think it's a useful add-on.
