I acknowledge that I went a bit too far there. And here is an answer to my own challenge: Imam condemns support of alleged Ft. Hood shooter - Yahoo! News
Edit: Doh, it is the same article as you have added recently. Still, seeing a similar reaction from some of the Imams in Iran or Saudi Arabia would be even more encouraging!Last edited by sparq; 11-11-2009 at 02:35 PM.

Thanked: 586Some of you heard this on NPR this morning. For those who didn't catch it, I am putting the link to the article here: Wounded Soldier Recalls Fort Hood Shooting : NPR

Thanks Brad. Some interesting links from the comments section are below. IMO the picture is getting clear - he is a Jihadist, not a victim of a breakdown.
How come he was not identified as a potential threat? Perhaps this comment says it all? "His fellow students complained to the faculty about Hasan's "anti-American propaganda," but said a fear of appearing discriminatory against a Muslim student kept officers from filing a formal complaint."

Thanked: 267It does not matter whether he was a Jihadist or someone who snapped. The bottom line is he was not properly investigated because he was a Muslim and we lost people because of it. Even now there are talking heads in the press who deny there was a problem and are driving their agenda daily, and it is an agenda!
There is another glaring problem here, and that was that the officers that had sworn to defend us against all enemies foreign and domestic, failed their country and the corp. I know some who have graduated from The Point and I can assure those individuals, to a man, would not have allowed this to continue. They would have made enough noise that they would have had to resign their commission or the problem would have been rectified.

This is a very sad event that probably could've been prevented but depending on the actions taken to prevent it, many things could've happened, including the agency in question being accused of racism, violating privacy, profiling, etc, etc.
This is the politically correct society we're creating when we strip the Armed Forces, FBI, CIA, Police Departments, etc of the power they should have to protect the people from these and other types of attacks.
