    Default Who Here Loves Oprah?

It's not a white or Black thing. Man or Woman either. For all you guys on this site know Im a green and purple Hermaphrodite in need of a shave. Now with the Topic: Oprah makes my blood go cold. I find her self Righteous and a mind numbing enabler for those lemmings who enjoy her show and views. My pitty goes out to those who suffer life with a fan of her aftermath. We have a weird society, that loves this woman with so much reverence, Her and Elvis will be confused for the Virgin Mother and Jesus Christ by archaeologists thousands of years from now. I know I'm not alone in my feelings, so Let's hear from you guys. I'll chime back in when this thread has some growth. Go ahead, now's the time- Rant

Oprah first started on Australian tv when I was a student. I can't remember if it was high school or primary school. Anyway, Oprah was on tv on a Sunday. So what her tv show meant to me was the crushing reality that the week end was almost over and soon I would have to go back to school for another week. In my mind I associated Oprah with classes, school work, home work, failed assignments and bullies.
Now that I'm many years out of school there are other things I associate with Oprah, like tasteless fat free food, inane books and an insane Tom Cruise jumping around on a couch like a four year old with a new toy.

Just to be sure I understand, you are asking for only those people who share the same hatred for a television entertainer named Oprah Winfry to join you in a thread dedicated only to bash the woman? So is this to be a simple role call? Are you saying, "All those who detest Oprah Winfry say aye?" Or do you want people to step up and testify as to why they harbor strong feelings of hatred toward the woman who they likely never met?

It may be a typgraphical error but considering the small minded nature of the original post, I thought I might try to help you out. I know the word rhymes with "tit-ty" and "shit-ty", it has only one "T": "pity".

    I like Opera.

Actually, I don't. But it's the kind of crappy pun that amuses me.

i may not be as fired up about it but i hold the same feelings. i have no clue how people don't see it. i won't say that she is the devil, or even a bad person for that matter, but the hold that she has on her viewers and the influence that she has on them to me is a bad thing, not a good thing. JMHO

as far as people who say "well you have never met her", i say that actions speak louder then words, oprah promotes whatever crap new product is going to be big and sell well and gets huge kick backs from the manufacturers for it. what good is this doing people? they worship her and such waste their money on things that are overpriced and don't work. i can pretty much only speak about health products though as i haven't watched a full episode of her show for a long time (because i find her irritating, again JMHO), but in my store i know what she features as "health" products because i will have middle aged women coming in for weeks asking me if i carry whatever ever it is that is new and clicky. to me that is wrong, i fully realise that in a business sense it isn't, and again i don't think she is any worse then many other celebs, i just think she has more influence and uses it.

hopefully this doesn't come off as hateful as that is not how it is meant. if makes any difference i dislike Ellen too. ha!

Most of the sensationalist talk hosts are about exploiting people. I must confess that I have never watched her show, other than the clip icedog put up of the poor women whose chimp attacked her,so I don't know if she is in the Jerry Springer category but I felt that her interview with that women was exploitive. I don't care for talk shows. I will watch Charlie Rose or Tavis Smiley depending on who is on with them and I am hooked on Washington Week In Review and the sometimes raucous McLaughlin Group but that is about the extent of it.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

    I think tv sucks, mostly.
I've watched Oprah for maybe about 10 minutes in my life. Can't say this or that about it.
Shutting down tv is always a good choice for me. Life is elsewhere.

It may be hard to believe, but I do not watch television. I have not seen a TV show in years, literally. However, I read several daily newspapers and read several weekly newsmagazines, so I do get some information as to what's going on in the world of television, and it seems to be going down hill in both substance and style -- most programming, it seems, is geared to the lowest common denominator. But, hey, what do I know?

OPRAH used to be a weather woman on tv here in tennessee. she has never impressed me. i will give her credit on some of her charity work. but she is way to far left wing for me.
i have watched only a couple of episodes that just happen to be about religion and it was almost like she has her own "following" and no matter what she says do, they will do it.
i also am an avid XM radio fan and she has a channel on there(or did). again she has what seem to be mind numbed robots to do here bidding, no matter what the cause.. anytime i see people in great numbers just following a person of any political/moral sense, i remember jim jones and what happened there...
personally i have nothing against her, just some of the ways things are coming across on her shows...
