Well damn, now I really feel like the odd man out here. I do agree with str8rzrshvr that I vote for the individual rather than the party.
Question for the Republicans. Are you watching C-Span right now? If not, could you please do so? I would like to know your honest feelings about what your party is trying to do at the moment demanding the immediate withdrawal of troops from Iraq.Last edited by mgraepel; 11-19-2005 at 02:17 AM.

Thanked: 2209Well, lets put it this way. I was utterly dumbfounded when Bush was re-elected. I could not believe it!!
At the same time I have to say that the alternative did not please me at all!!
At this point in time I have never felt so completely unrepresented by the major political parties as I do now.
They are not focusing on the major problems, they are not critically evaluating the success or failure of existing programs, they are not challanging existing power centers, they have let the economic foundation of this country disappear (manufacturing and agriculture), they have utterly ignored the energy crisis for 30 years, etc. etc etc.Randolph Tuttle, a SRP Mentor for residents of Minnesota & western Wisconsin

Randy,
That is how I have felt for the last 4 presidential elections. I didn't want either of them to win. I have found the same is true with local elections. I feel that the common man has been forgotten and I can't believe they have let the energy situation to get as bad as it is...... Well I am wrong if I am Mobil/Exxon I guess there is no crisis only profits.

Guys,
It's a sad thing when you really are voting "against" someone rather than "for" someone. Guess that's why, when the presidential debates are on at the same time as the beauty pageant, the debates when the ratings. Of course, that's where the two "biggest boobs" are!

Thanked: 0Soapbox
I am more conservative than Republican and if that category had been on the list, that would have been the way I voted.
I have to agree with you fellows who say it looks like the individuals have been left behind. We do need to stop terrorism in its tracks and even tho I am not a hawk I believe we have done right in Iraq.
But the big picture needs to take into consideration the needs of all not just the corporations. Business is what enables us to have our lifestyles but I find myself going backwards.
When I was making $5.00 an hour I had more than when I was making the big bucks( that is a slam on trucking). Which is another subject all together.
Hope I did not bore you all too tears with my soapbox.
