Card carrying member of the "Beer" party...didn't see that as an option! I am registered as a Republican, but I vote for the person, not the party.

I am an active member of the RNC-but I identify myself as more of a conservative than a republican...ya know what i mean?
The poll is amazing. Are only republicans answering or are we just a big ol'e group of elephants?

I'm a die hard Republican. I come from a mixed family. My brother and I are Republican and our mother and sister are dumocrats, our father was a dem also and could never figure out how he raised 2 republicans. I always told him it was because he taught us how to think for our selves.

I'm a registered Democrat but I much prefer the ideas of the Green or the Libertarian Party. Both the Ds and the Rs have become far too homogenized to be readily distinguishable and for the most part they aren't watching out for their constituents. Mind you these are my opinions and observations, not necessarily fact

I also appreciate a lot of Libertarian views as well. Specifically limited government, states rights, constitutional constructionism, personal liberty and frredom.

I'm in Canada so it's a bit different. We have three main federal parties.
The Conservative Party is as it sounds and more so all the time.
The Liberal party was also as it sounds, but less so all the time.
The New Democratic Party is the only party left(lol) that actually lives up to social justice values so, as an artist, they are my kinda folk.
The Green party is gaining support at the expense of the Conservatives strangely enough, and we even have a seperatist party called the Bloq Quebecois who are bent on seccession from Canada for their province.
It's a riot on the hill and we're heading for a January election. The main issues? Protecting Health Care from creeping privatisation, standing up to the US on the Softwood Lumber problem, and rampant corruption in the ruling party(Lib.). If you're at all interested in what Canadian politics is like NOW is the time to pay attention to the CBC. I believe CBC Newsworld is available in most places through the US.Last edited by xman; 11-19-2005 at 01:51 AM.

Yeah, I've heard a lot about the softwood lumber issue and you folks in Canada are getting a raw deal. I hope people come around on this issue soon.

Not to pick a fight, because I love Canada...
I'll start feeling compassion for their softwood issue once they stop shipping their trash into Michigan.
180 Semi-trucks daily haul trash into Michigan for dumping in landfills. In 2003, Toronto alone sent more than 1.1 million tons of trash into Michigan! It's a growing concern here in Michigan and it isn't slowing down anytime soon. I'm not saying it's entirelly Canada's fault, the State of Michigan needs a good a$$kicking on this issue, too. I'm only one vote...
But, to answer the question/poll, I'm the lone Republican in a family full of Dems. It seems that more and more lately I've voted the individual rather than the party.
