The End of The World?
Recently, mixed in with all the other media attention paid to Sarah Palin, there was some focus on her statement concerning the expansion of Jewish settlements in Israeli occupied territory: She said: "I believe that the Jewish settlements should be allowed to be expanded upon, because that population of Israel is, is going to grow. More and more Jewish people will be flocking to Israel in the days and weeks and months ahead."
Some have interpreted Palin's comment as evidence of her religious beliefs about certain events that will usher in the "end times" or the Great Tribulation, particularly since there seems to be no empirical evidence of any imminent "flocking" of Jews to Israel that would otherwise explain her statement.
So here's my question: Do you believe we are truly approaching a biblical "end time"? If so, would you support the election of a president who shares this belief and who might base certain foreign policy decisions on such a belief?
I trust the posing of this question will not raise any religious or political issues...
