French press (I have several). Sometimes a moka pot. On my list is a Cona siphon brewer...

I roast and grind my own. I use a Technivorm to brew.

Thanked: 151I am sorry, but I just have an electric coffee pot and a bean grinder. We's too po' for expresso machines and all that these days.
Nice post though.

My Manservant Gustav FINALLY figured out how to make a decent cup, after utterly exhausting my thrashing arm...the nerve!
But who knows how he does it? Who has time to deal with such...common...things as making coffee?

None of the above....
Melita (#4, paper filter) ... I get properly roasted coffee ground finer than the shop recommends and make a single large cup in a #4 cone filter. By getting the grind fine the filter slows down just enough that the coffee and water have time to do their thing. The clean up is easy and the coffee is way up there.
I do have the luxury of a local roaster.... and based on what was roasted in front of me I try this and that roast and bean.
If I want a second cup I add about half the ground coffee I used the first time to the same filter and add some more boiling water.
Part of the secret is the electric water kettle that quickly boils water then shuts itself off -- no burnt coffee pot, no too loud bo-jangle whistling tea kettle.

The poll left out the vacuum pot method.
I use a Hario vac pot. Makes a wonderful cup of coffee.
