Melita (#4, paper filter) ... I get properly roasted coffee ground finer than the shop recommends and make a single large cup in a #4 cone filter. By getting the grind fine the filter slows down just enough that the coffee and water have time to do their thing. The clean up is easy and the coffee is way up there.

I do have the luxury of a local roaster.... and based on what was roasted in front of me I try this and that roast and bean.

If I want a second cup I add about half the ground coffee I used the first time to the same filter and add some more boiling water.

Part of the secret is the electric water kettle that quickly boils water then shuts itself off -- no burnt coffee pot, no too loud bo-jangle whistling tea kettle.
Using the Ground beans more than once seems to me to make Incredibly bitter coffe but who am I to judge

I use a Hario vac pot. Makes a wonderful cup of coffee.

Difference in words.. a don Pedro is a vacuum pot and that's what I usually call all of them (quite wrong I know)

Same here. Press can/Presso can = French press.

Modified Rancilio Silvia, DeMoka grinder, Espresso beans produced by a friend of mine. Thankfully, we have a professional espresso machine at work, too.

    Cool

Coffee at home is made expresso style on an italian expresso coffee pot. I drink it without any cream, two teaspool full of brown turbinated sugar. Like I am doing now. On the go....I buy it at Starbucks, no sugar with a dash of half and half.

I think what you are describing as a mocca brewer. I use that too atm since I cant afford a nice espresso machine on a students earnings.

Btw favorite coffe: Molinari espresso oro roasted whole beans.

Well, get it. Probably the best home machine for that sort of money. The new line has the professional portafilter and some other goodies. Here is a great review of it. The Minimoka is a nice grinder, and you can get some very decent deals for it in the US.

Hario used to have a US website where you could order directly from them, but I don't think it's operating. If you can't find one on Amazon, you can order Hario vacuum pots from these folks: Hario Syphon Siphon / Vacuum Pots, Nouveau 3, Tech 3/5, Deco, Coffee Drip Pot, Coffee Mill | Avenue 18 - Fine Tea Merchant|Richmond, Vancouver,BC Canada. If you decide to buy from them, stock up on extra boxes of the paper filters at the same time. Their shipping charges to the states are a bit rich, so get all you need in one order...
