This all reminds me of why Pirates had people walk the plank eh?
No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

Because we pirates don't stand for such ridiculousness, especially not on our own ships where we are master and commander!
I agree with the previous post about freedom of speech pertaining to governments and public spaces. This forum is not the United States of America, or any other country for that matter. This is a private place in international territory, and it's owner and those who represent the owner wield absolute power. That is the nature of a forum, and everyone who signs up must agree to those terms. If one does not agree, cannot sign up. For a member to say that the Admins and Mods do not have absolute power on the forum is a total contradiction in and of itself.

Hmmm...Well, since I appear to have been a part of this (The initial "accusation" of spamming anti-Obama rhetoric was mine...) I guess I should weight in, but all I have to say is...thank you.
In my opinion, with all things there is a time and a place ("for every thing there is a season", I believe it goes). As far as I could tell, the poster in question felt that ALL the time and EVERY place was appropriate to express his political opinions. Some people think this is the American Way (falsely, I might add, according to the Supreme Court). However, by placing his opinions in places where it was no longer possible to avoid him (until I turned on the old ignore switch, of course) he was, frankly, becoming extremely intrusive. I'm sorry that my words in some way instigated this, but I honestly feel the outcome was inevitable.
Some people just don't know when to quit...

Thanked: 151Let me be the first to say, I took it as a joke when I replied. I am sorry, but I did not realize the uproar. I truthfully get too wound up sometimes and over express my opinion, but I was just kidding. At the end of the day, nothing the people on this forum says means anything to me as it pertains to politics. I don't know who they are, I don't know if they believe what they are typing, and I have found that most people are inherently dishonest and can't be trusted to take a stand on anything.
That being said, the same applies to me. I am truthfully as dumb as I sound. I have tried to lay back, and would never have responded to the original thread had I not thought it was a joke. Politically, I like politicians who are intelligent and and moral. I also like them to base decisions on rational thought not political parties, so I dislike essentially every politician in D.C. without exception. However, that does not make my opinion valid or worth while, nor is anyone else's on this forum more or less valid than my own. The healthcare debate got out of hand, and I learned a lesson. I was punished and deserved it. I don't have to take care of them when I get finished in my career, because I wont work in an indigent ER. So, there was no need for me to be as stupid as I was in that debate.
Again, I apologize to the moderators for my comments and again, I thought it was a joke.
BTW I just got back form an interview in Alabama and just read this tonight, hence the late apology.
Regards

One of the most fundamental property rights is the right to exclude. Feel free to exclude those that don't care to act gentlemanly.

We have the right to partake of the great free knowledge and wisdom that is dispensed liberally. We have the right to to enjoy and share in each other's company, experiences, trials, triumphs, learning, etc. And we have the right to disagree about things without being a jerk. The guy in question was constantly looking for a fight from what I could tell. I say good riddance.

It was said earlier by richmondesi in post 26 here . If you invite me into your living room and I start acting in an inappropriate manner your right to ask me to leave trumps my rights in that situation. Whether you ever invite me back is also your call.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

I'm no lawyer or forum expert (this is the first forum I've ever been part of) but. We are here as guests of the site owner (or owners). Said owner(s) set up the rules that they would like abided(?) by in terms of conduct when using their property. The moderators have been asked/apporched (whatever you want to call it) by the site owner(s) to help insure that the conduct on their site is however they would like it to be. In the case of SRP it's ment to be done in a Gentlemenly (Ladylike- there are women here too) manner. In a case such as this if an individual, male or female, feels that they have been unduly prejudiced against one needs to first, in a gentlemenly/Ladylike manner PM the mod that made the decision if there is a question as to why they have been "singled out". Political views aside Gentlemen should be able to work out whatever issues were/are in question and then move on. The main issue to keep in mind is that first and foremost, as stated before, we are guests of someone else using their "property" and if we choose to use that property in a manner that goes against what the owner or individuals acting on behalf of the owner wishes then no. We have no choice but to take whatever "disciplinary" decision is handed down to us.
