    Default Sons Of Anarchy

    Greetings all!

So I have gotten hooked on a new(ish) US show Sons of Anarchy, set in the little town of Charming and looked after by SAMCRO. It's basically a biker show, very refreshing change to the usual drivel and has just been approved for a third season.

Anyone else been watching, thoughts, opinions, views?? lol

    Dear Silver,

Until we get something better than MI5 as a trade for SOA, I am going to have to insist that you not watch it.

PS- It needs to be something on the order of BlackAdder or The Office.

Zib, I'm up to ep 5, season 2. The guys have just been arrested for going after Zobelle.

Having spent most of my late teens and early 20's on the fringe of the biker culture, good and bad, the series is awesome and a fairly decent portrayal of life associated with (some) clubs.

Last crew I ran with were unpatched and had a yearly run to raise money for local charities. My last run with them 10 years ago we managed to raise £12,000 which was donated to the Hospital's Neo Natal unit. The year before part of what we raised went to taking a group of special needs kids to see Disney on Ice, hehehe.

Rob, there are no good shows coming out of the UK ATM. I mentioned Paradox a new Sci-fi that started a few weeks ago over on the Dr Who thread. Will keep you posted if I hear of any good ones coming out.

PS - Thank you for Dexter too, like SOA it just keeps getting better and better.

    Love it!

The writing is good and the one liners are actually funny. Can't beat it.

    Default British TV and Bikers

I would like to say THANKS to our British Cousins for sending "Prime Suspect" with Helen Mirren our way. Wonderful series.

Whenever someone mentions bikers I think of a local story. I live about 28 mile from the Talladega Race Track and Harley Davidson used to use the facility to test bikes and they had a crew of people there who just road bikes for testing purposes.

My nephew is a lineman in a crew for the local power company. The maintainence supervisor called the power company and requested they change out some lights at the track that had blown and he wanted the work to be done as quickly as possible as he needed all the track time possible to meet his testing schedule. The power company sent out men in force.

The arrived and were setting up the trucks when one of the bikers walked over to the crew and said "does it take six trucks and 20 men to change out a few light bulbs."

My nephew replied, Does it take 17 zippers on your jacket for you to ride that bike around the track?

Both the linemen and the test riders had a good laugh out of that.

Sons of Anarchy is the best TV show since The Wire as far as I'm concerned. Great writing, great performances and I'm very much looking forward to season 3.
