    I like the idea of shaving the old fashioned way and hopefully soon being able to maintain my razors the old fashioned way too.

    I also like the variety of blades and scales, to me they are works of art which make shaving that much more enjoyable.

    My feeling is that there are too many time honored practices that have fallen victim to modern life. We grab fast food instead of cooking, go to the grocery store to buy frozen vegetables instead of growing them, text and e-mail instead of writing letters. For just 15 minutes a day, each morning, I can get in touch with the past. And I love it.

    Besides the satisfying knowledge of the art, I do it because I otherwise can't get a smooth shave. The disposables, M3's, and bladed vibrators do an excellent job of tearing my face to shreds. It's unacceptable for me to go without shaving, so I've simply chosen the best tool for the task.
