Standard means just that, standard. There is no need converting to it. I just know that my time is GMT+1. I also know all major cities time zones, so it makes it easy to deal with. For example, I didn't know about CST until I found this forum, and saw Lynn's first chat invitation... Also, in the User CP panel at this forum, you adjust your time zone according to the GMT. Poor Russians, their country spans across 11 time zones! I also don't like USA markings AM and PM, although in verbal comunication we use them here too. After 12.00 we also say one-thirty... But in writen, we always use 24 hours.

It's impossible for me to remember all the time zones I deal with, so if I agreed to call someone at 10am their time I would have to look up what that would be in GMT. With all due respect to the standard, I need convenience someone, and I'm not going to look up what 10am is in GMT (and worry about whether or not they have daylight savings) and then force the other guy to do the same. It's easier just to go directly between the two times.

It was really cool to put a voice and face to Theo (HoekemanX). Now he is a real person to me and he in turn can tell you how badly I need a haircut!

Next we have to make some low res videos for the new guys showing how we hone, strop and shave. Demonstrate lapping a hone and using a handheld microscope. How to whip up some lather and apply it, etc.

When I get my new video camera I will be having some fun with this stuff!
