as for being under conservative rule for the last 8 years, that is incorrect as the last 2 years of the Bush administration had a congress controlled by the democrats and they did nothing to brag about either. Bush also was NOT a conservative in all of his views.

Oh I'm sorry for 6 years of idiocy was not enough to accomplish anything useful besides infringing on American civil liberties in the name of terrorism...lol Take a few pennies and get yourself West Law, and get back to me at how great the last six years have been for American democracy.

Take time to read the Federalist Papers and get back to me at what it is to be American, maybe you won't be so right wing.

What's great about you guys is you know nothing about the law, having put myself through law school years back, it's great to listen, it's like like hearing an armchair quarter back on sunday "Oh I'd have done that" lol.... sure buddy.

MY skins hardly so thin, and yes politics are ****ing boring but annoying you right wing folks is a hoot.

btw I'm not democrat and no liberal, just an antagonist.......

    cheers gents

TYPICAL...you failed to notice in your haste to slam me that i also stated that Bush was not what i called a true conservative.
i have read the Federalist papers and several other founding documents along with them.
would be interesting to hear some of your tripe on what a true American is supposed to be.
you act like that our freedoms and rights were never infringed upon before.
look back at WWII and then come back and talk to me about what happened then. also who was in power while these infringements took place???
i guess with your line of thinking laws never change for any reason.. ever hear of amendments??

Go check the Bureau of Labor and Statistics, those years where historically low unemployment years unlike what we have now, not to mention the great economic growth, unlike what we have now.

Yes, and the entire country got to watch the Progessives in action on that one. There was no constitutional process in play there. Progressives always really do what they accuse others of - like lie, cheat and steal.

And what a senator he is too. I saw on television his reprehensible treatment of Leiberman when he was trying to speak. Nice guy you got there.

Yep, Bush was not a true conservative, and I have read the Federalist Papers also. I wonder what party the Federalists would have belonged to. Let's see, think, think, think - Oh yeah, it would have been the conservatives.

And truly, the only problem I have with any party is the fact that progressives have infiltrated them and are feeding off of them like some kind of parasite.

Let's take things slow so you can understand 59, which btw my diatribe was not aimed at you, but you seem to take personal offense so I'll play along.

My reasoning for mentioning "taking the time to read The Federalist Papers" was not because I adhered to their beliefs of what it is to be American but rather that they propound a concept of America that mistrusts it populous, and puts the power in the hands of a few.

Which is what I mean, America isn't exactly setup for the average joe's voice to be heard nowadays, politicians are so intrenched and the system favors big business, lobbyist etc...

Much the same as what was said in another so called conservative thread "giving more influence to corporations"

I can agree I hate Al Franken, he's boring, and annoying, however I despise your right wing thinking even more, it's entirely one sided.

So Bush wasn't a true conservative, was his father?, was Reagan? What more excuses does the Republican party have to come up with for the aging views.

Again, I'm not a fan of this presidency either, I'm just playing devils advocate here.

BTW should I even address the fact that I'm arguing with a man who has Sarah Palin as his avatar?? I mean honestly you couldn't sound like more of a dolt if you tried, just by that fact alone...
    Cheers

first off you are correct as to who is and is not trusted. if we were to be able to vote strictly by what the founding fathers wanted, then only land owners would be allowed to vote.
second, the power of the government comes from the people(or their representative) and NOT from the government to the people as politicians would have you think.
thirdly, you do not really know what "my" right wing thinking is, as most have not really heard me out fully.
fourth, al franken stole a race out right for the senate. he is rude to his own colleagues in the senate(example;senator joe)a real showpiece of a senator for us all to look up to.
fifth, no GWB AND GHB were not true conservatives. Ronald Reagan was closer to what i would call conservative in the way of smaller government and lower taxes. although there were also policies from him that i could not agree with.
sixth, my choice of avatar is my own choice. i like it. i could care less what you like or think.
after all who cares what most attorneys have to think anyway. just look what great things they have done for us in the congress
your prejudice shows through triumphant and clear.
    i rest my case counselor
i do reserve the right to make further statements as we proceed

I think the big difference is that it took 8 years of Bush policy before people were willing to vote for anything else. Luckily, and amazingly, in one year the people of Massachusetts were able to see the road we were heading down. Our country was definitely headed for trouble. Barry, and the democratic parties plans were going to make things much more difficult than they had to be. The health care plan, cap and trade.....

Frankly I am worried about Barry. I believe he is an extreme ego-maniac. In his own messed up mind, he was our savior. He believes his ideas are the right way. The Massachusetts vote, and the fallout pretty much shuts down his agenda. What left wing politician in his right mind would look at Mass, besides Pelosi, and think his job is safe? Barry has not had any success in his presidency. His endorsement seems to be more of a curse than a blessing. Will his ego let him survive?
