    Default Safe docs

Just another tip for ensuring your travel docs are never fully lost is to get on a computer and scan all of those you might need, passport, tickets, insurance, driving license, etc, and email them to yourself. That way even if you lose EVERYTHING you will still be able to get hold of these.

Once you've done this once you're set for most things. Can be handy too when you need to know your passport number or the like for work.

Hope you have a great time when the time comes.

Do hostels. I'm sick of them now, but I'm glad I did it. Go for the ones that seem just a little bit strange. They throw great parties.
Walk a lot. Hell, walk everywhere. Take out the headphones and pay attention to what's going on around you. You may just stumble into the time of your life.
Travel light. Really light. In addition to being easier to deal with, it also forces you to get out and see the world.
Talk to people. Even the kinds of people you'd walk right past at home. Traveling is about exploring your own mind as well as the world.
And most of all, have fun.

Just recently did Milan, Venice, Bologna, Florence and Rome in two weeks. Wasn't enough time.

If you decide to follow JimR's recommendation and take the road less traveled, PM me about a great place to have lunch in Bologna.
