Thanked: 530Oh that's just great.
As if the "western powers" weren't paranoid enough already. This probably means another stint of soldier deployment >.<

Hope it is just their internal politics.
Iran has already troubles enough for anti-goverment protesters. If their government is wise enough it doesn't get more Western sanctions to make people suffer more.

It means that they plan to flex their muscles either remarkably, but I think it's too soon for that from them, or else symbolically, maybe some more executions.
Whether 'we' are the west or the world I doubt it will mean anything other than what it does already, that Iran is a potentially dangerous nation, but much more useful in stirring up fear and hatred by governments and the media. Just a guess though. I imagine we'll find out in a few days.

Last night on PBS American Experience they televised an account of the allied bombing campaign in Europe. It told how Ike and Doolittle, among many others, were against the proposed bombing of cities and civilian populations early in the war. How they changed their minds as the war went on and it was realized that they would have to do whatever it took to stop the enemy and end the war. Maybe we in the West will have to come to the same conclusion to stop this repugnant and dangerous ideology that is behind these people.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

+1.
How is this different from Bush with his axis of evil talk where he denounced Iran and told people he'd take care of it before the end of his term?
Fwiw, Iran has its current leadership because the US toppled the previous, progressive goverment in their global chess game against Russia. Iraq as well. That should have taught the US by now that meddling rarely makes things better in the long run.
As long as Iran stays within its borders, I don't care what they say or do. The moment they open hostilities we should pounce with everything we have. Not 1 second before.Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.
