    Default A little jab...

...But does this mean that the GOP is finally growing a set?
I like this as a start. Its clever and it highlights some of the problems of the current Administration. I hope the next step will be to stand on conservative principles ( notice I didn't say republican principles? ) and say what they mean and mean what they say instead of being the spineless wienies and the scape goat for the DNC that they have been since Franklin D. Roosevelt.

Mark, based on your understanding of a 'set' I think you need to get some testosterone injections. Your wife can thank me later

Really Mark, the GOP?! They are no more conservative than the present administration.

While thew GOP leaves a lot to be desired it has differentiated itself from the DNC. All 40 senators stood firm against the stimulus bill last year and all but a couple stood firm against the healthcare reform. Same holds true for the house .
For all the Problems in either party we can clearly point the finger in only one direction, and that would be at ourselves for allowing the Senate and House to get away with murder and not holding them accountable.
Third parties lose and leave us splintered. The only answer is to change either of the main parties from within. I believe the GOP is our best hope for this.

The republicans were firm against social security and medicare, civil rights, and on and on. Anything that is a benefit to the general population and/or poor people and isn't earmarked for big business and the military industrial complex. Give them enough power for long enough and you can have the Darwinian survival of the fittest society you seem to desire so much.

Wether third parties win or not, the repubs as well as the dems are not holding themselves accountable to their constituents, this bodes well for the indies, Even if some people will not lose faith in their preferred party it will be the independent voter who changes the 2 main parties from without, as the two primary parties lose their constituents and voter anger sets in, the threat of rising independents will change them from the outside. Hang in there Mark, help is on the way!

Dependent of course on how long it takes the American public to wake up.

As nice as it sounds the problem is simple. "wherever you go, there you are", In other words Until we learn to hold our elected leaders accountable for their actions and insist that they act in accord with what they claim they stand for we will not do it with a third, fourth, or even fifth party. We will drag all the problems to the next party and there will be no change.

I say stop running into the next fix. instead stand your ground, acknowledge your mistakes, And make our existing elected officials act with our best interest at heart...It wont be easy but then what is if its worth keeping.

Sounds to me like another excuse to say one thing (disapprove of the current leaders) but do the exact opposite (keep voting for them again and again)
I recon you've got some learning to do utill November... It comes every couple of years though, so no worries, some day you'll get there.
