Thanked: 293100% right again.
This is like deja vu for Apple, and it harkens back to the time when Apple did the same thing with their computers. By only allowing in-house development on their hardware/software, they severely crippled themselves when they had to go up against Microsoft. The better business model always prevails. It's just a matter of time before Apple falls flat on their faces again.
Now... the iPhone's only glimmer of hope would come if they decided to adopt the html5 platform. Still, if that happens, it will happen to far in the future, and skeptics like me will have already jumped ship waiting for iPhone to deliver what other companies' phones already are.
This Motorola Backflip looks cool. Coming 1st quarter 2010. Rumored March 7th.
