I downloaded the bill Thursday night and am about 600 pages into it, some good some bad. Either way I can't understand all the legalese that's for certain. I can send you a copy if you like. I figured this would pass so I decided I might as well start seeing what I'm getting for my money.

I'd say you should be very happy to have your eyes open then. Since this type of thing has been going for uhm... just a bit over 200 years.

Now the question is if somebody has the imagination to actually devise a working system without "back room dealings and downright lies". And then sustain the outrage from all the "I want my america back" crowd.

i'm not sure how far Obamas healthcare bill goes, I'll admit that, however I am from the UK, where we are known to have socialised healthcare, and from a number of folk I know in the US, it is considered by them to be inferior. However as someone who has been subject to some possibly debilitating injurues and pretty bad illnesses over the years I can say without the NHS I'd be withering or dead, I have always had good care and comfort when I needed healthcare, I've always been able to turn up at my doctors and ok maybe wait a half hour, but I always get seen and there's no issue to my care.

If the healthcare bill adds to your piece of mind even only half of what the NHS has added to mine then I'm happy for you folks over the pond. I couldn't imagine of going into a hospital and either being refused care or being given a crippling bill afterwards, and yes I pay for it in my tax, but ya know.... it's so so worth it.

+1 to Geek's sentiments. Being from Canada, I can say that I am very grateful for our health care system. I know it's scary to most Americans, but I can tell you that there is a peace of mind that it brings that is hard to explain to you. For example, I have never met anyone in my country driven bankrupt because someone in their family suddenly got sick or injured. Being taken care of is just assumed, and we don't constantly fret about health care, one less thing to worry about in your day. There's value in that, but it's hard to explain to a people so used to a more individual state of mind.

I do not believe it will soon be forgotten and I believe their will be many career politicians looking for a new line of work come November. I will not be surprised if something major happens before the election. Im not sure what it might be but something big might be just around the corner,

I'll wait and see.

Now if another opens, I suggest everyone stays on point, because the Mod team is watching it closely now ..
