Its not a question of white christian verses brown muslim Bruno. If they're guilty they're guilty. My problem. Being that I get a strong smell of low politics at play but because I already mistrust this administration it puts everything they do in a tainted light in my mind, so, I thought I would put the story out there and see what kind of replies I get

As all have stated, the individuals are charged and not convicted, however, after reading the General Allegations within the Indictment, I have little question about what has taken place so far, and if a portion of these allegations are proven, I hope they get the maximum.
I have former professional experience with these Militia types and I have the same distain for them that I have for foreign terrorists. They are a cowardly lot of losers, comprised mostly of individuals who look to blame anyone and anything other than themselves for their own self-caused misery or perceived misery. As foreign terrorists use religion, local terrorists use religion or the constitution as their justification for their unprincipled narcissistic arrogant sense of self-worth with exploitative indifference to the welfare of others, all in the hope of special recognition...essentially...self-aggrandizement.
In short, they are absent social conscience, and have total disregard for anyone's rights but their own.
Unfortunately, their calculated slant on religion or the constitution woven into their stated cause as an appeal for justification sullies both in the eyes of the young or uniformed.
But, that's just meLast edited by hardblues; 03-29-2010 at 10:24 PM.
Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak; courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen.

No true Christian would do what they are saying these people did. We have to remember that they are innocent until proven guilty.

What I see here, Mark, are yahoos who stopped talking big and started hiring people to build bombs.
Owning guns=ok. Running about the woods with your buddies pretending to be hot stuff=ok. Building bombs to kill police= NOT OK. Once you start making bombs to kill people, you become a criminal...it's a pretty simple equation.

Mark you failed the political sommelier test with Mrs. Palin.
As far as I'm concerned, so far this is just an indictment, until the gathered evidence is confirmed sufficient and they are found guilty they are innocent. I'd wait for the completion of the process.

Well....you take a loaded gun; you place the barrel of the gun against my left temple; tell me to "make your day" and then you pull the trigger. Only problem-the gun jams and I walk away.
See--that would be an example of "intent". You intended to kill me. That in and of itself is a crime. Also, you may have seen that "sting" TV show where they ambush pedophiles who arrange meetings with "minors" that aren't really minors. They still go to jail for their intent crime, even if they don't get to carry out their intentions.
Convictions based upon proof of intent-via circumstantial evidence; is hardly uncommon. Otherwise, proof of intent would require prosecutors to either elicit an admission, or to unscrew the suspect's skull cap and peer inside to discern intent.

The big question about this case is where does bullshiting with your buddies become intent. When does assembling and speaking cross the line to conspiricy.
Did they actually do anything illegal? Or do we already have thought police?

It is a shame that they couldn't have gotten a fellow by the name of Timothy McVeigh at that stage of his game.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
