    Default Kansas City Help

I am coming heading down to Kansas City on April 9 for a few days to enjoy some BBQ, Beer and Blues.

I was wondering if any of the forum members from KC could recommend a few interesting places to visit. I am aware that the City Market is a hot spot. The Steam Boat Museum looks interesting. Gates BBQ, and Bryant's BBQ seem to be the top BBQ joints?

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Oklahoma Joe's BBQ gets a lot of good press, but we went there when we were in town and I think it's over rated. Maybe it was geeting there at 2:00 oclock in the afternoon and still waiting in line for over 45 minutes for a BBQ sandwich on a dried out crumbly bun.

Jack Stack BBQ was pretty good, but try the original location, not Country CLub Plaza Fiorella's Jack Stack Barbecue :: A Kansas City BBQ Tradition=

Seams to me there is a WWI or WWII museum as well, we did not have time to check it out.

City Market was OK, but we probably spent less than an hour there. There are quite a few restaurants & Bars in the Power & Light district.

    Have fun!
