Thread: Volkswagen Punch Buggy

I used to play Slug-Bug... Then it became "Punch buggy [car color]. No punch back"... To be honest, I now play it the way the commercial demonstrates, only with a twist:

*if you see a Beetle:* "Punch buggy [Color] No punch back". And they can punch you until the latter part is said... Makes it more fun
*If you see any VW:* "[Car color] One!" Followed by a punch. No punchbacks being inferred.

However, Since the Beetle game is being outdated, You get two punches for a VW Beetle, but only one punch for any other VW. Also, if you see a Geek Squad (the Best Buy tech support guys) Beetle (and they only drive vans, or Beetles.. it's great) you get four punches for that one, and the punch back is dis-allowed, as the Geek Squad Beetle is so rare..

Lastly: When playing with a woman, light taps/light shoulder punches only... When playing with guys, belt 'em good... Also, when playing with guys, if the punch (or punches) is rubbed, they get two more punches in the same spot..

And, of course, if anything is mis-called (It's not a VW, they said the wrong color, it was already called, etc) everyone gets to punch the mis-caller twice. All the convoluted rules serve to trip people up, so there is a maximum of punching in my vehicle at all times

But still agree It's the old beetle. Saw one today but was driving with only my 18 month old in the car. RED SLUG BUG NO SLUGS BACK. there that felt good.

i can't say i ever really played the game, but to me it makes sense that it only pertains to the beetle.

i did think the Superbowl commercial with Tracy Morgan and Stevie Wonder was pretty funny though.

I'm color blind. My older brother used to beat my arm numb with mis-calls. I'm pretty sure he was lying half the time.

My younger brother got beaten pretty bad if he deviated my MY rule that no color-calling was allowed. Punch Buggy...smack. No punch backs, but the "no punch backs" wasn't allowed to be called until AFTER your punch. If you got out of the way, it pretty much turned into a slug fest. Oh, and no rubs...that was our rule, too, but you only got one extra punch for it...but that punch was a wind-up and it HURT because you were already sore and you were expecting it. Like we needed an excuse to beat on each other. Ah, good times. Now he's half a foot taller and outweighs me by 60 pounds....good thing I got quick and study martial arts!


Oh, yeah....old beetles only. I think punching on a new beetle gets you three back, and punching on a toureg or any sedan gets you a groin kick.
