Thread: Jail

Me no, but my dad did get nicked once when he was younger on a stag do. No charges were pressed, no names were taken and no one was even cautioned, but he did actually spend the night in jail!

Basically what happened was he and my godfather (whose name is Roger Moore, but not THE Roger Moore) were out with a few guys on a stag night and on the way home decided to strip the groom to be and chuck him out the back of the van and then drive off just fast enough that he couldnt quite catch them.

Needless to say the Police stopped them, and unfortunately the first person they asked for a name was my godfather. "Roger Moore" he replied, and the cop said something like "Yeah, and I'm Shaun Connery" and dragged them all off to the tanty.

Apparently when the Police called my mum she said they could keep him for the night..!

Nelson, that must have been pretty intense to sit in the chair in the gas chamber? I remember seeing the gallows at the old jail in Melbourne, out of use for decades at that point, and it was quite eery! Lord knows what it must have been like to sit in the chamber at the time when it was still in active use..!

I recall reading somewhere that the electric chair in Nebraska has a coffee cup stain on one arm from one of the old guards who used to like to sit in it while he had his lunch...!
