For anyone else using linux here (already emailed Eddie)
Mplayer with plugins plays quicktime. However it tends to conflict with realplayer so you either choose between the two, or find a version of mplayer for your flavor of linux that's realplayer disabled, or if you're really good with coding and compiling kernels you download a version for another flavor and port it to your favorite linux flavor.
I typically use Fedora because of the support that seems to be out there. I'm able to set up linux for blind users more easily in Fedora, yum works wonderfully for most installs and updates in fedora, etc. etc. etc. While I don't like the new Enterprise/testuser split that redhat has done I do like how many advanced redhat users have stepped up to the plate and provided wonderful techsupport (fedoraforum.org, linuxquestions.org, stanton-finlay.net, etc., etc.)
If I ever get really adventurous I'm going to try to finish my universal installer for linux. I have a sneaking suspicion that the community efforts to standardize linux distributions will succeed before me though. I've gotten so far away from coding that I'd really have to spend some time just getting back into the nitty gritty.
