Treading Thin Ice?
OK, I just have to ask...
I have been a member here for about 4 months now and have enjoyed every minute...
Now the question... What does it take to get placed on the "Banned User" list?
I was going through the members list and there is a "slew" of them... Also, I just left the "Classifieds" and there was one in that location too...
Just curious...

Thanked: 335I haven't been banned yet. Thankfully, management is very tolerant of the obtuse.

"Then there are permanent bans. These don't happen often. 99.9% of these are banned spammers. I always try to prevent banning 'real' members because I like to believe that people can get along if they would just try. However, sometimes that does not work, and in those case a member is banned. Examples include members mailing insults to mods (you are a dickhead), sellers refusing to communicate with buyers after receiving the money, and things like that."
So more personality conflicts here...
"Note that we cannot usually divulge information about -why- we banned someone, and this makes us an easy target for public disapproval. We are not part of a judicial system. For example (purely hypothetical of course): If we would ban someone because he was ripping off members, we cannot say so."
And this is understandable... I guess I was just wondering what or how serious it had to be...Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated...

From what I have seen since I have been here, it is those who refuse to "play well with others" that get banned.
It is easier to fool people than to convince them they have been fooled. Twain
