I don't often wear it but I like to wear my fathers Greek fishermans cap.
Nothing too classy but I like how it looks.Shaving_story on Instagram

Given the Kilt Wearers' thread of a few months back, I'm suprised no one has shown any enthusiasm for a Tam o' Shanter.

Your a big-un. If you OP for a cowboy style hat go with a Resistol or 5 star Stetson. If you go that route make sure an have a horse hair stampede strap installed. It keeps your hat on your head in case of stampede, plus they look cool hanging down the back of your neck when not in use.
When I"m working outside I use a Tilley Hat. They have the snaps on the side so you can raise one or both sides. Kind of like a boonie hat. Many decesions, I would go with somehting practical to keep the sun and rain off your head bone amigo.

Ha Mike! The old GI "boonie" hat is still my favorite, I have no idea how many I have been through throughout the years.

Thank you I will continue the internal debate. This definitely gives me some ideas.
My only fears with flats is that every juvenile delinquent at my university wears one because they all want to grow up to be a rapper and their semiliterate public school teachers told them that they were all special. Sorry, I hate when idiocy ruins class.
I like stetsons, but am unsure if I can pull it off.
I may have to get a newsboy for one.
Ya, I'm not small.

No offense meant to school teachers as they are far from the root of that problem.

I think you could wear a snap brim, or a wide brim fedora quite well..I wouldn't go for the pork pie on you, but a snap brim stetson would go well..As for a Summer hat you could look on Panama hat direct for a decent priced Cuena..I have a stetson, a borsalino, and a Panama..Fedoras add a touch of class..Snap brims keep you young looking.

I don't wear a hat for my head's sake alone, but for the weather. Today was raining heavily so I wore my wide brimmed Australian outback hat, cotton, but oiled so it's very water resistant. When it's drier, but still cool I have been wearing a wool fisherman's cap, the Greek kind. I'm looking for a good flat cap though. Summer wants something else. I'm on the hunt for a good Panama hat this year. The cotton flat cap I used last year is good for evenings, but doesn't cut it in the sun.

You'd look just fine in a fedora, newsboy, beret. Check out JJ Hatter in NYC. I wear em all...but for cowboy. You cant go wrong...mark my words, you'll have compliments from all sides.
You have to be reasonably confident....more important than the style hat.
A hat and shined shoes.....oohwee.
