Gold Toe Socks
Hey fellas, I've been wearing Gold Toe socks for years, and have always found them to be durable and comfortable. I do a lot of walking, and the last few pairs that I have bought have worn through in just about a week's time.
Has anyone else noticed a decline in Gold Toe quality, or maybe did I just catch a bad batch?
Any recommendations for a good quality, durable, black sock?
Thanks a lot."The ability to reason the un-reason which has afflicted my reason saps my ability to reason, so that I complain with good reason..."

I have worn Gold toe socks for the past 10 years after being introduced to them on a business trip. I will say that the past year I have seen a decline in the product as well and have been trying to find a suitable alternative.

Thanked: 102Socks
I remember when they were called Gold Cup socks. Later they changed to Gold toe. I think it is the same company. However I agree the last few pair I have bought have not lasted.
Try Bridgegate socks. Expensive but in the long run cheap because they last.

I have also been a fan of Gold Toe's. One thing that I have noticed is that each batch I have gotten doesn't match the previous. If I find something I like I tend to keep the with the same thing. I don't want to sort socks but I have found that if I have 20 socks in a load of laundry there is at least 4 variations. I should be able to grab 2 black socks and go!
I have wondered if they are even made in the same factory?

I have been wearing Thorlo's since high school, when I started running cross country (the sport, not the actual country). Both my parents are runners (both marathoned, and my dad also did triathelons), and they both wore Thorlos as well. I haven't bought any new ones in the last... six years or so, so I'm not sure what their current quality is like. But the old ones are holding up very well.

I've been using ones made by the same folks that make Dockers pants. The color gets a bit washed out, but the socks themselves have not stretched out, nor have they developed holes.
