Thanked: 1185I dipped Copenhagen for most of my life 13 until a few years back. It became very expensive so I decided to look for suitable substitutes. Grizzly Snuff in my opinion is not only a suitable substitute but is actually (dare I say it) a bit better than Copenhagen and about half the price.
I prefer to smoke a pipe (now talk about a crisp stout vitamin N kick!) but in the office I dip most of the time as going outside just to smoke is kind of a PITA.The older I get, the better I was

Ya, wanted to ask about pipes and cigars..
so aren't they just as bad as cigarettes ?
I just ask out of curiosity as I really dont want the smoking habit. 40 and already have emphysema.
apparently mixing bud and tobacco is a real no no for the lung system.

My Dad started when he was 12 and smoked 2- 3 packs and chewed about a can a day a day for 16 years. Now he hasn't had a cigarette or dip in around 26 years.

I'm almost ten years off cigarettes now. Stick to it! I don't find cigars are the same as cigarettes. I can enjoy one on a special occasion and not feel the need for another. they may be just as harmful, but they're not as addictive I think because you don't smoke them the same way.

I smoked Drum tobacco (roll it yourself) for about a dozen years, at an alarming rate. I succesfully quit almost 2 months ago. Whenever I feel like smoking (I miss the habit rather than the nicotine), I tell myself that if I choose to do so, it has to be Drum, so I can't ask for a cigarette from anyone else; nobody smokes it. So I'd have to go to the convenience store to pick up that habit again, and it's too much effort.
Also, with this new shaving hobby, the sense of smell is more useful. Choosing and comparing soaps, creams, AS and colognes works better when there's no tobacco smell/smoke floating around the house.

The difference in pipes or cigars depends on whether you inhale the smoke or not. If inhaled one is as bad as he other but most pipe smokers don't inhale. The pipe tobacco I smoke is so strong I couldn't inhale if I wanted to and I smoked Camels with no filters when I smoked cigarettes. Best not to smoke anything though.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Hi,
It is three (3) years since I quit smoking 'gaspers'
I still miss it
I have re-taken up pipe smoking, and use snus at work (i get the snus direct from Sweden).
Because of the EU tobacco tax, the snus ends up being pretty scalpingly priced - it works out at ca 10 USD for a 45 g (ca 1.6 oz) tub
Have fun !
Best regards
Russ
