That's some nice hardware and accessories. Josh, you duty weapon is sweet. I'm curious why you don't like a double stacked mag. Is there a reliability issue or is it ergonomics? I've got fairly small hands so any semi-auto with a fat grip is not going to work for me.

I envy you all that are from states that allow concealed carry. Here in California, it's getting more and more difficult to even own a firearm.

Of all people, I would assume you would appreciate the grips and what they signify

I've heard a few different versions. The one I'm most familiar with is the dragon signifies widsom, while the tiger signifies ferocity.

I recall a round in my Dad's Wilson .45ACP misfired, and blew the magazine out of the weapon, neatly splitting the grips in half at the same time. Since then, steel liners have been a requirement for him. I'm still using the stock wooden grips on my Springfield Armory. Jeez... I need to go put some rounds through that one.

I had those grips custom made while I was carrying for both personal and work protection in an area where gunshots were just background noise to most of the residents. I put them on my main carry weapon to remind me that I had the power and skill to protect myself with deadly force. But also that I have the wisdom and and self restraint so that I shouldnt ever put myself in the position where I'd have too.

    It just seemed fitting...

JL - The Les Baer tolerances are VERY close (maybe too close for your comfort), but I have not had a problem. Here are a couple of crappy pics of my 1911 styles.

Nice 1911. Never heard anythinb bad about Les Baer and I know some guys that carry them. I do worry about tolerances though...I guess with my cheap old springfield Maybe a total investment of $850 over the years...I can count the jams or piped cartridges on two hands with fingers left over and thats all from cheap plinking ammo, not self defense grade ammo. Its funny as much as I like to buy new things that is the ONE thing I dont want to replace for a carry weapon.

BTW, Im surprised they still let you buy those things in CA lol.

I don't blame you. I still like my 5 shot j-frame with +P's for the same reason!

Yeah, they let you own them, but ccw's are hard to come by anymore. Can't get one of those nifty Barrett M82's though.....damn

cool screensaver from STI. It really details the imortance of a good ramp job. Seems like the weakest link in the cycle.

Getting this made into a necklace....it will make me feel good to wear it...but it will also fun to piss off the liberals. (sorry if anyone in this thread is liberal...I'll agree to disagree with you and leave it at that)

Don't know why I happened upon this post particularly, but it seems you've misunderstood at least some liberals. It is liberty which you are exercising when you own guns. I'm a lib. (or worse) and I'm all for the freedom to bear arms. I guess that means I'm disagreeing to agree with you there.
