Ya I usually give a gun around 500 break in roundsI would say I go through 2000 rounds before I will carry anything. Actually my springfield 1911A1 Loaded model has really impressed me, especially for the price range. I even had a customer service issue (which I think is posted in 1911forum) and SA was so great about their service I was just so impressed, especially for the price range of their weapons...of course it took another 1000 rounds or so until I would carry it again after the repair...but like you said more excuses to go shooting!!!
