Thanked: 1185And They Wonder Why Women Outlive Men
So, quick scenario, I'm off work for the next four days and we're getting ready to move on Saturday. Over most of the week, my wife has been boxing stuff up and getting ready for the move. So I come home today, and my Shave Cave has been dismantled! With the exception of my little drawer thing that I keep my razors in, all my other stuff (brushes, soaps, creams aftershaves and yes, even my strop!) has been unceremoniously chucked in a box!
So now I've got to sift through the rubble, repack the box and take it out to my truck. Now, I know she meant well and am not too inclined to say anything to her but good grief! That's day one stuff! Don't touch a man's pipes, hats or shaving gear! Come on! Your killing me! My pipes/tobacco apparently have already been packed (ugh!!) but fortunately the insanity stopped before she jammed my beloved hat collection into a box. In fairness, I guess I should have said something to her that I would pack my prized possessions myself and squire them over to the new digs in my truck but I thought that kinda went without sayin'. I guess I was wrong.
The older I get, the better I was

It could be worse. I assume everything was carefully packed. It could have been just thrown into some box and be rattling around.

Why should it matter if it wasnt HER stuff?

Wow I just went through the same exact thing verbatim 3 weeks ago. It wasn't even my wife that did it, she had her sister do the deed. Hundreds of dollars in razors thrown in the bottom of a box with the rest of the medicine cabinets contents on top. I didn't say anything either, I figured I have to choose my battles wisely especially when somebody is trying to help out.

I have heard that the women outlive the men because they keep being told their place is in the kitchen.. not terribly intelligent when you figure that is where all the big knives and heavy skillets are stored..
But on a more positive note. I am sorry to hear that you had to go through that frustration. Hubby has full responsibility for his gear hereLast edited by CarrieM; 05-13-2011 at 04:22 AM.

Thanked: 267I fixed all that goings on! I told how much that razor, she packed in a box like a bastard piece of folk art, cost and that put an end to all that! I explained that there are actually some things in my shave den that can not be replaced. She was cool and said that, from now on, I packed my own shaving gear for moves and for trips. She said she was sorry and I wangled a tub of Castle and Forbes out of the deal!
Take Care,
Richard

I'm really finding this thread really funny because i just got engaged march 14th and right before I did i took up straight razor shaving.(thought i'd go all in and change my whole life style!) She bugged me a little cause i had a few nicks starting off but just today she complemented me on the difference! Funny part is I asked her permission today if i could invest in a 1000k hone because i don't have one that low and we're not even married yet!! (in honesty i wanted to start including her in financial decisions) I found it funny that I'm whipped all ready

Thanked: 235My wife and I will be moving into our own house soon. Thank you all for reminding me of a valuable lesson. Move my own shave gear myself.
