Good call, you played that just right I think.

Seems like she wanted to have her cake and eat it too! Some peoples nerve never ceases to amaze me.

My response if an ex had called me up like that would have been "sucks to be you. Bye now" *click*

Cake is for eating. However, if you like the girl, don't do something you'll regret. Prom only comes around once in a lifetime.

    Good Luck.

Im sure she will never make the same mistake again. i for one and as sad as this is to say, im happy im not going, id rather be on the mountain in my buddies jeep hittign the grad parties out there and maby meet some chicks, over dancing in a tux but i would have swallowed my pride and went for her but now im free to go so i think that pi**ed her off a bit when i told her what i was doing.

o i did like her at one point but i moved on and until last night i dident ever think about her again. she really shocked me when she called, but im not going to make her happy when she could verry well turn around and leave me again when she eyeballs somebody else she wants. So if she still shows intrest after prom i may slowly start becmign part of her life again. But untill then im gonna enjoy my free time and enjoy being free and wild untill i meet the one that i will settle down with.... but im no where near ready to settle down.

She has to prove to you that she's learned from her mistake. Until then stay away. I've seen a few people get burned later in life with a familly & kids, and it's absolutely brutal. Like you said, enjoy your free time and make every second count.

    Good luck to you !

I don't. I find this situation is just her making a stupid mistake. Don't get me wrong, I think you absolutely did the right thing. You just gave her a very important lesson in life, and she can hopefully come out of this experience as a much better human being and learn from her mistake. However, is finding pleasure in someone elses misfortunes, however deserved they might be, something good ?

thats in intrestign view point and i respect that. what i found funny was that in her head she had this grand plan and she dident work out the flaws before she acted on it, not her suffering. with any luck she will learn a lesson and will be a better person afterwards. I think if she still goes tomorrow she will find at least one person to dance with.

Classic case of what the Germans call schadenfreude, which a French proverb defines thusly: "There is something in the misfortune of our best friends which does not displease us."
