It's the same as political science. I should've clarified. Liberty has no Poli Sci major, however their government is a TAD more specialized, if only in the amount of courses we take. But most politicians have either a government, political science, or prelaw major under their belts, so no worries here

I'd vote for almost anyone that's a 180 from the current administration. Or, Glen.
I strop my razor with my eyes closed.

Well, there's a lot I could say here but in the end the Government is really you and reflects the electorate. So if we don't think much or the Pres. or hate congress or think the supreme court is biased that just reflects this country and it's population. That is all us and what we have become as a nation. Are we interested in some group grabbing power and sticking it to everyone else? Is that what it's all about?
So what kind of person do I want as President? You know, it really doesn't matter because as long as the electorate are the same stupid folks who don't elect the person who will serve them best and run the country for everyone and it's about this group or that or as long as corporate interests control the way things are run the person in charge will not matter. We've already had morons running the country so we know what can potentially happen.
Maybe if we're really lucky the country will go down the tubes before the election happens and some strongman will come along and just take over eh?No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

Hahahaha I just replied back with an American-centric, we're the best country ever-type thing
I seriously love America so much! We are one heck of a nation. We might not have the best leaders right now, but what makes us great is our freedoms and our people, and we have the best the world has to offer on those fronts.

Christian:
Thanks for clarifying, I guess I'd just never heard of it referred to as a major in government... always poli sci.
In reference to your latest post: I think your two key reasons for America's greatness are very quickly dwindling. Meaning our freedoms are less and our people are not nearly as patriotic, intelligent, or involved as they have to be to make the country once again prosperous. 95% of the population (obviously not an actual statistic) are sheep who will vote for their own interests if for any reason at all.

No problem. And sadly, I agree with that. However, it is important to note that they are also the reasons that MADE us great. True, our freedoms are diminishing (even more rapidly under the Obama administration) and yes, most sheeple will vote just to vote.
I don't mean to offend anyone in here as this is just an observation, but almost every single black kid in my high school who was of voting age freely admitted to voting for Obama because "he was black." I don't think color should be any issue at all. If Obama believed what I believed, I would absolutely vote for him, however skin-deep (quite literally) issues shouldn't influence voting. Most Americans are merely sheeple who listen to what mainstream news outlets have to say about the candidates (and we all know that the news networks influence the polls, they don't merely observe. That's why they are known as "the gateway.")
I'm proud to say that I'm one of the few patriots America has left, and I really do appreciate what our country was, and still is (even to a lesser extent.) Everytime I sing the our anthem or say the pledge, or pass by a flag, I realize how lucky I am to live here. Maybe things will only get worse, but to me, America will always be the greatest country in the world.

I second that. I just think that almost 100% of the the young population, my age group, has no business voting. I'm literally angry that I've had to witness how horrible Gen Y really is. Have I read somewhere that within the 90% range, we can't join the military because of criminal records, drug use, or inability to pass a fitness test? This being said, the people of the past MADE the country great and it is now being torn apart.
Not a single demographic should ever be taken into consideration when voting. This conflicts with what many here are saying but no age, race, gender, religion, etc. should matter.
"...one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by [insert demographic] but by the content of their character." Unfortunately people get demographics mixed up with character.

If only people in our age group could understand this... how the country would be changed???? I could get into a lot a lot a lot a lot of things (most you'd probably agree with) about how stupid and ignorant our generation is, but I'd probably have to write a book instead of a forum post.
But, in regards to your age demographic, I have to say, I'm not voting anyone under 35 into office, but only because you can't run if you're that young.
