    Bar soap all the way.
    I've even used it for lather when shaving with DE years ago.

    I mentioned this the other day, but tonight I again washed my hair and rest of me with four new shaving creams (just to see how they went). I COULD get the soaps of the same scents, or I could just use a teeny weeny bit of the cream. It lathers really well (as we know) makes my hair SQUEAKY clean, and you don't have scents contending with each other. Weird, yes, effective, also yes...
