Now if phone spam wasn't bad enough every time a neighbor loses a cat I get a robo call asking me to look for the damn cat.

Thanked: 101The AC officer told me they were killing cats and dogs by the truckload. So rehabitation is really not an option. She told me they don't adopt out feral cats. They kill them. Also there about 5 breeds of dogs they will not adopt out either if they get them as "adult" animals (the beloved pitbull is one of them). They kill them also. They keep cats for 2 weeks and then they get the injection. This is due to being unable to adopt them out and budget constraints. I can tell you this much....There were calls awhile ago about dogs running loose and snapping at kids. Those dogs ended up being 30-30 lungshot in the streets. The city won't take care of this issue, and like I said before I hope the OP's problem isn't this bad.

Donate to the spay/neuter program in your community. Support your local S.P.C.A. Adopt a pet if you can.
It's 'our' fault our little animals have to run wild... they'd much rather be stealing our blankets and getting a good brushing.

It's a sad fact that so many former pets are "euthanized" daily due to animal shelters lack of funding. But fortunately, in many cities, there are many "no kill" animal rescue groups who will go out of their way to trap/rescue strays, rehab those they can, and find them good homes. In Fort Worth, the local Petco's and Petsmarts sponsor a very successful adoption program in association with these rescue groups. Just a fantastic program that gives these deserving critters a good life.

Not to digress but a funny story about cats. A few miles from my home we have an 11,000 ft mountain and some friends live in the foothills and one day the guy noticed a cat out in his yard so he goes out with some food in his hand and feeds the thing which then proceeded to take a good portion of his finger off. Turned out it was a Bobcat. He just thought it was a big tabby.

Big Spendur-I just GoogleMap'd your location on a whim using your link. I spent some time in NM this summer on the way to a trip around the Four Corners area. We stayed in Santa Fe a couple of nights with some friends, had some awesome Indian/Spanish cuisine with both kinds of chili sauce (red AND green!), got some great pics of the famous NM sunset with the wildfires burning for added color, and drove through Albuquerue on our way to the Grand Canyon. Interesting state you got there.
edit: I own two black cats and contribute to the fattening of one (now semi) stray. There are many roads to sharp.

So I poked around and the Bonide brand stuff was pretty heavily recommended online. There's a solution called "Repels All" but the local ACE was out of it so I picked up some of this: to try.
