Thanked: 1185I've not done any business on Ebay for quite a while. However, I feel your pain I used to fall in love with old Kaywoodie pipes and the auctions always seemed like they ended in the middle of the day when I was at work. In the morning before work I'd check the auction and see that I was the leader and think, "Yup when I get home I'll pay this guy and have my pipe in a week or so." However more times than not, I'd come home to find someone had outbid me a nanosecond before the auction ended.
With regard to razors, I've seen plenty on Ebay but never bid on one. My fleet comes entirely from local flea markets and antique stores. At most of these venues, you're not forced to compete with other razor freaks (who typically inflate the market). There are acceptions but in my experience locally, these folks see razors as mere trinkets and if they can move them and in the process make a couple bucks it's all good. Welcome to the world of $5-15 razors. I've paid more for some of my antique store finds but most of my razors are in the $5-15 range. While it's true that the fishing isn't nearly as lucritive and there are often lots of trips between scores, it's all good. At the end of the day I never seem to be at a loss for something to shave with. The older I get, the better I was
