I hate Ebay with a passion
I look through thousands of razors, fall in love with a couple dozen, and have them snatched away by some D*ck in the closing seconds just because I can't sit here on the internet all day and watch them.
I have won 1 out of 9 so far and have 7 with auctions still ongoing.
Yes, I know there are programs you can use that "snipe" auctions. I know someone was willing to inflate the price to what they thought was appropriate. I know that I really don't NEED more razors right now. But God dammit, if they really want the razor just put the bid in so I don't walk away assuming no one else wants it because it has sat with my one bid for 4 days.
Rant over.

You either play the game and put in a snipe for the max you want to pay, or accept that you might lose. That's how it is.
I never ever put in a bid before 10 seconds left. Or I use sniping.

Thanked: 1262The nice thing about sniping is that it stops you from bidding with emotion. You are deciding that you will only pay $x dollars and that is it. No bidding wars you regret later.

Here's how you win on the 'Bay. It's very simple.
1. Find a razor.
2. Determine how much that razor is worth to you. The absolute most you'd pay to own the razor, whether it is $5 or $500.
3. Bid that amount.
4. Wait until the auction is over and see if you win.
If you keep getting beat by a dollar and you're mad about it, then you need to realize that you actually valued that razor at $6 instead of $5. Stop trying to "get a deal." Bid what the razor is worth to you and either win or not. Very simple.

I'm not using sniping anymore.
If I see something I want, I place a bid in my maximum amount straight away and then forget about the whole thing.
If I won, fine. If someone olse wanted it even more, then that is equally fine too.
Win some, loose some, it's all goodBjoernar
Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me over all these years....

Apparently you all aren't familiar with the "rant" style post. Someone complains about something obvious yet still annoying for the sake of complaining. There is no counseling or 2 cents necessary because the OP knows things don't always go their way 100% of the time...
Rant rant over.

Thanked: 1262I understand. What is the deal with kids today and their hip hopity music? Back in my day the entire town had one record that each family got to use for a week. If you broke the record then you had to sing the songs repeatedly until your throat bled. Which is where the term "like a broken record came from". Speaking of records, why can't i buy records these days? Everybody gots their pepods and zing zaddys they plug into their ears. What happened to community? This is why this country is going to hell in a hand basket I tells ya.
